My Favorite Fall Things to Do In Sheboygan
There’s just something about fall in Sheboygan. The cooler temperatures, colorful trees, crisp air, apple orchards, pumpkin patches and all the fun events make it one of my favorite times of year to get out and explore.
If you’re looking for things to do this fall, here are some of the places I’d put on my list!
There's just something about fall in Sheboygan
Wander Through a Corn Maze and Sunflower Field
Fall activities are going to be in full swing soon Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is definitely one I’d put on my fall bucket list! The Center is about 20 minutes from downtown Sheboygan, but worth the drive.
I love a good fall afternoon where you can get outside, wander around and actually have a few different things to do, and this is one of those spots. You can get lost in the giant corn maze, wander through the sunflower field and take in all the beautiful views along the way.

And there’s more than just walking through the fields! You can pick your own flower bouquet to take home, and on Fridays and Saturdays, you can hop on a tractor-drawn wagon ride through the sunflower field.
If you’re looking for a place to spend a few hours this fall, I think this is a great option. Grab your camera, get a little lost in the corn maze, pick some flowers and enjoy a little taste of Wisconsin agriculture while you’re there.
📍 7001 Gass Lake Road, Manitowoc, WI
Get Lost at Flora Fields
If you want to make a whole afternoon out of fall, Flora Fields in Kohler is a fun one to add to your list.
During the fall season, the fields turn into a little autumn playground with a 9-acre corn maze, 11 varieties of sunflowers, a hay fort, photo spots, board games and live music. You can wander through the sunflower fields, cut your own flowers to take home and, starting in mid-September, check out the pumpkin patch and take a hayride.
I think this is one of those places where you don’t have to rush through. Grab a seasonal drink or something to eat, listen to some live music, play a few games and just enjoy being outside. And obviously, bring your camera because there are plenty of cute fall photo opportunities along the way.

Spend an Afternoon at an Apple Orchard

One of my favorite parts of fall is finding an apple orchard and spending an afternoon picking apples, walking around the trees and enjoying all those little signs that fall has officially arrived.
A spot I recommend spending the afternoon at is, M&T's Gibbsville Orchard. You can wander through the rows of apple trees, checking out all of the pumpkins and, of course, treating myself to an apple cider donut and some fresh apple cider.
They also have fun games and activities, which makes it an easy fall outing whether you’re bringing the family, going with friends or looking for something fun to do as a couple.
📍 N3322 WI-32, Sheboygan Falls, WI
If you’re looking for a fall outing that combines good food, apples and a little time in the country, add Whispering Orchard to your list!
This family-run orchard and café is the kind of place where I could easily spend a few hours. You can stop in for a homemade breakfast, lunch or brunch, with plenty of comfort-food favorites like pancakes and omelets, then wander through the farm market to check out the fresh local produce.
Of course, fall is the perfect time to visit the orchard for apple picking, too! And one of my favorite little touches is that you can visit and feed some of the furry farm friends while you’re there.
📍W1650 County Rd MM Cleveland WI 53015

Pigeon River Apple Orchard is another family-owned and operated orchard that has around 1,000 apple trees, with varieties including Honeycrisp, Wolf River and Pink Lady. Now you can’t walk around the orchard here. They have a little farm store that you can go in and stock up on caramel apples that are loaded with toppings like turtles, sprinkles, M&M’s and cashews, and of course some fresh apple cider.
📍 3532 N 21st Street Sheboygan, WI
Pick Out a Pumpkin at Bulitz Pumpkin Farm
I love a good pumpkin farm where you can wander around and take your time finding the perfect fall decorations, and Bulitz Pumpkin Farm has plenty to look through. You’ll find everything from pumpkins and gourds to squash, corn stalks and hay bales, with decorations available both indoors and outdoors.
But I wouldn’t just stop by to pick out a pumpkin and head home! There’s plenty more to explore around the farm. Families can take a horse-drawn wagon ride, enjoy a pony ride and visit the petting zoo. You can even hang out with and feed some of the friendly farm animals, including goats, chickens and llamas.
Whether you’re looking for pumpkins to decorate your porch, want to get some fall photos or just want to spend an afternoon enjoying the farm, this is one of those places that really gets you in the fall spirit.
📍 N6327 Rangeline Rd Kohler WI 53044

Get Outside at Maywood Environmental Park
Fall is one of my favorite times to explore Maywood Environmental Park. With more than 135 acres to explore, there are plenty of trails where you can get outside and enjoy the changing scenery.
You can hike, bike, watch for birds, fish or simply take your time walking through the park. I think it’s one of those places that’s worth visiting in every season, but there’s something extra special about seeing all the fall colors here.
📍 3615 Mueller Rd., Sheboygan, WI

Another place I’d add to your fall walking list is Willow Creek Preserve. This 143-acre natural area is tucked right in Sheboygan and feels like a little escape from the city. There are footpaths that wind through woods, wetlands and open fields, making it a great place for a peaceful fall walk. Keep your eyes open while you’re exploring, too. You might spot deer, wild turkeys, birds or other wildlife along the way.
I love finding places like this where you don’t need a big plan. Just throw on a sweatshirt, grab your walking shoes and spend an hour or two enjoying the fall weather.
📍 1004 S Taylor Drive
Take a Walk Through a Woodland Sculpture Garden
One of the more unique places to visit is the James A. Tellen Woodland Sculpture Garden. Tucked away in the woods on the Black River, this garden surrounds the Tellen family’s former summer cottage and features more than 30 historic, religious and mythic figures.
The sculptures range from life-size to miniature, and I love that they’re surrounded by the trees and natural landscape. It feels a little whimsical and a little mysterious, which makes a walk through the garden especially fun on a cool fall afternoon.
📍 5634 Evergreen Dr., Sheboygan, WI

Climb a Tower for the Fall Views
One of my favorite things about fall is finding a good place to see all those beautiful colors from above, and the Sheboygan area has two observation towers that are perfect for it.

Broughton Sheboygan Marsh Park & Tower is home to an 80-foot wooden observation tower, which is actually the tallest wooden observation tower in Wisconsin. From the top, you get incredible views of the Sheboygan Marsh and the surrounding landscape. The park itself is also worth exploring, with opportunities for hiking, fishing, disc golfing, camping, picnicking and more. So I wouldn’t just make the tower your only stop. You could easily spend a few hours here enjoying the outdoors.
📍 7039W County Rd S R Elkhart Lake, WI 53020
Then there’s Parnell Tower, which sits at the highest point in the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The 60-foot tower gives you panoramic views stretching up to 25 miles, and I can only imagine how incredible the landscape looks when the trees are covered in their fall colors. And if you want to turn your tower visit into a hike, Parnell has a 3.5-mile trail that overlaps with part of the Ice Age National Trail. I think a crisp fall day would be the perfect time to tackle it!

Visit Bookworm Gardens for a Spooky Fall Event
If you’re looking for something a little different, keep an eye on the fall events at Bookworm Gardens. Their Boos & Brews and Happily Haunted events are a fun way to experience the gardens with a Halloween twist.

Bookworm Gardens completely transforms after dark, with the gardens decorated with thousands of twinkling lights and glowing Halloween décor. Walking through the gardens at night already feels pretty magical, but add spooky decorations, music, cocktails and a bonfire, and you have a really fun fall evening.
Boos and Brews is a 21+ event and is perfect for a date night, a night out with friends or anyone who loves a good spooky atmosphere without necessarily wanting to be scared. There are themed cocktails like the Graveyard Old Fashioned, Witches’ Brew and Ghoulish Mule, plus food trucks if you work up an appetite while exploring the gardens. You can even grab a s’mores kit and hang out around the bonfire.
If you’re looking for a Halloween activity to do with the kids, Happily Haunted is one I’d definitely add to your fall calendar.
Bookworm Gardens takes on a completely different look after dark. It’s spooky enough to feel like a Halloween event, but still has that whimsical, storybook feel that makes Bookworm Gardens so special.
As you wander through the Gardens, you can explore all of the decorated spaces, listen to Halloween-themed storytime and even play a game of I Spy to see if you can find the hidden bats throughout the Gardens. It’s really designed to be a gentle, not-too-scary Halloween experience, which makes it a great option for younger kids or anyone who isn’t looking for a haunted house.

Celebrate Oktoberfest
Fall also means Oktoberfest season, and there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the food, drinks and festive atmosphere.
Tributary Beer Garden is hosting its annual Oktoberfest, and it sounds like such a fun way to celebrate the season. Located right along the Sheboygan River inside Kiwanis Park, Tributary already has a laid-back outdoor atmosphere that I love, but add in Oktoberfest festivities and you have an especially fun fall outing.
I’d make an afternoon of it grab a beer, enjoy some food, play a few yard games and hang out by the river while taking in all those early fall vibes. Tributary also has cider, wine and non-alcoholic options, so you don’t have to be a beer drinker to enjoy the afternoon.
If you’ve never been to Tributary before, I think Oktoberfest would be a great excuse to check it out. And if you already love the beer garden, well, you probably don’t need much convincing!
📍 511 Kiwanis Park Rd., Sheboygan, WI
See Fall at the Wade House
I always love finding seasonal events that give you something different to do than the usual pumpkin patch or corn maze, the Wade House’s Autumn Celebration Weekend is one I'd keep an eye out for.
The Wade House grounds come alive with traditional autumn activities for the whole family. You can try your hand at pumpkin carving, press apples and play old-fashioned harvest games like Snap Apple.
One of the things that sounds especially fun to me is heading over to the candlelit Herrling Sawmill, where you’ll hear the rumble of the water-powered saw while listening to family-friendly spooky stories from the past. Then, you can warm up with some hot apple cider before taking a horse-drawn carriage ride around the grounds.
The historic buildings will also be open to explore, including the Wade House Stagecoach Inn, Dockstader Blacksmith Shop, Herrling Sawmill and Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum. So you can spend the day experiencing a little history while soaking up all the best parts of fall.
I love when a fall event gives you more than just something to look at it gives you things to actually do. Between the harvest activities, spooky stories, apple pressing, cider and carriage rides, this sounds like such a fun way to spend an October weekend.
Take a Fall Walk Along the Riverfront
If you want something a little more relaxed, head down toward the Sheboygan Riverfront and South Pier.
I love taking a walk along the water when the weather starts to cool down. You get the combination of the river, the trees and the changing scenery, and it’s an easy way to spend an afternoon without having to plan out your entire day.
And, of course, you can always make a stop somewhere nearby for a coffee, lunch or a drink afterward!
📍 S Pier Dr., Sheboygan, WI

Just Get Outside and Enjoy It
Honestly, I think that’s my favorite thing about fall around Sheboygan. You don’t necessarily need to plan some huge outing. Grab a coffee, take a walk, go apple picking, wander through the woods, find a fall event or just spend an afternoon outside watching the leaves change.
Fall goes by way too quickly, so I’m all for finding as many excuses as possible to get out and enjoy it while it’s here. If you’re planning a fall visit to Sheboygan, save this list and start checking things off!
